COLLABORATION THEME OF COMMUNITY SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE (new February 1)
Towards 2020 Conference – Warrnambool March 25 & 26, 2010 If you are associated with a Not for Profit organisation you will benefit from being involved in Community Southwest’s Towards 2020 Conference. The conference will provide invaluable insights, information and connections and help prepare you for the challenges that the future holds. Two of Australia’s most influential decision makers for the Not for Profit sector will be keynote speakers at the Conference.

Senator Ursula Stephens, Parliamentary Secretary for Social Inclusion and Parliamentary Secretary for the Voluntary Sector, and Robert Fitzgerald AM, Presiding Commissioner on the Study into the Contribution of the Not for Profit Sector, will address the conference. Both are closely involved in the Productivity Commission Draft Research Report on the Contribution of the Not for Profit Sector which makes their perspectives vital to our future.

The Conference follows a theme of collaboration. The decade ahead will bring new challenges and we believe the future of the Not for Profit sector will increasingly involve collaborative partnerships. It is vital that all agencies be prepared and involved in this strategic direction and the Towards 2020 Conference will provide an important springboard to help you embrace collaboration. An excellent line-up of guest speakers will deliver insightful presentations on mental health, personal growth, membership retention and growth, social inclusion initiatives, social trends, systems thinking, inspiring teenagers, building community resilience as well as a range of stand-alone presentations on collaboration. An exciting component of the conference will be an open forum led by our MC Brett De Hoedt, who has substantial experience in the media arena. Brett will initiate a range of probing; inquiring and searching questions to provoke responses from our forum members regarding collaboration.  WRAD is a member of Community Southwest and is supporting the staging of this important conference.
